Effingham, IL-(Effingham Radio)-The Effingham banking team at First National Bank of Waterloo recently deployed their annual “cookie drop” whereby the Effingham Police Department, the Effingham Fire Department, and RuralMed EMS (ambulance) are showered with cookies and sweetie bags of candies.

The First National Bank of Waterloo makes this gesture every year as a simple way of saying “Thanks” to those who run to danger to protect the rest of us and our property.
“Banks have a special awareness of the value of the police presence and other emergency services,” said Jeff Bloemker, president of the bank’s Effingham market. “Our first responders in the Effingham region are as good as they come.”
First National Bank of Waterloo has over $900 million in total assets and 16 banking centers in Central and Southern Illinois. In addition to Effingham, the bank has branches in Collinsville, Columbia, Dupo, Marissa, Maryville, Millstadt, New Athens, O’Fallon, St. Libory, Smithton, Swansea, Waterloo, and Stewardson.
