Washington, DC-(Effingham Radio)- An announcement on new, relaxed fuel economy standards is expected today from the Trump administration. Top executives from Ford, General Motors and Stellantis have been invited to the White House for the event where a rollback of Biden-ear standards will reportedly be proposed by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
The former President required passenger cars and light trucks to have a fuel efficiency of around 50 miles-per-gallon by 2031. The standards were meant to boost sales of electric vehicles, while President Trump has worked to roll back any federal support for EV’s since his second term began.
