Washington, DC-(Effingham Radio)- The annual inflation rate hit three percent in September, according to numbers from the Bureau of Labor Statistics out this morning.
The consumer price index, the cost of a variety of goods and services, is the only official economic data released during the ongoing government shutdown. That was an increase of three-tenths of a percent for the month, slightly less than what economists were predicting.
3% is the highest inflation has been since January.
