Effingham, IL-(Effingham Radio)- A 26-year-old woman from Effingham is recovering in the hospital after her scooter was struck by a golf cart late Sunday night.
Mia Hayden was riding in the bike lane on Maple Street near Holiday Drive around 11:20pm when a golf cart reportedly collided with her and left the scene. Hayden was initially taken to HSHS St. Anthony’s Memorial Hospital in Effingham before being transferred for further care to Carle Hospital in Urbana. Effingham City Police Chief Kurt Davis says state police will now investigate, focusing on identifying suspects connected to the hit-and-run incident.
