Effingham, IL-(Effingham Radio)- The Effingham County Transportation Committee held their monthly meeting on Wednesday and heard updates from Effingham County Public Transportation (ECPT), E-Trax, and PCOM.
ECPT reported that while more people are using the service, they would still like for more people to use it. They said the more people learn about it, the more people that say they will utilize the service. They said that a southern route for southern Effingham is still a work in progress, as they are looking for routes with minimal railroad usage.
Pete Niccum gave an update on the CSS vehicles, stating that over 6k miles were put on the vehicles this month. PCOM also provided an update on their excess vehicle, stating that they are looking to get rid of it entirely now. However, they will first check with other counties to see if they would like the vehicle instead.
