Louisville, IL-(Effingham Radio)- The North Clay Board of Education held its regular meeting at the Unit Office on July 16, 2025, with four members present and Aaron Kincaid serving as acting president.
The board approved routine agenda items before hearing positive updates, including new copiers in school buildings and progress by custodians ahead of the new year. In-person Registration day is on July 30th in the grade school gym from 10am-12pm and 1pm-6pm.
Updated board policies were adopted, notably reverting Title IX rules to 2020 standards and allowing out-of-district staff children to attend tuition-free. A new athletic season pass policy was approved, giving gym sponsors first access to seat back chairs in the new gym, followed by a community lottery. Bleacher pass prices remain unchanged.
Staff pay rates for event support roles were set, and approval was given to seek bids for a new concession and restroom facility. The board agreed to continue the high school volleyball co-op with Clay City. Superintendent Price updated on summer projects: lot maintenance, new electrical panels, and a campus-wide phone system.
Following a closed session, the board hired Michele Ruesken as district librarian, Bailey Burdine and Cameron Stone as full-time substitutes, Alan Lucas and DeAnn Hronec as bus drivers, and Jenna Kessler as paraprofessional—all pending requirements. Larry Barbee’s bus driver resignation was accepted, and Trae Gressel was approved as a volunteer coach. Administration received permission to hire non-certified staff as needed. The meeting adjourned at 6:40 p.m.
