Effingham, IL-(Effingham Radio)- Sheriff Paul Kuhns stopped by the studio this week and explained how the Medication Assisted Recovery program that the Sheriff’s Office implemented this year has progressed since it started. The Medication Assisted Recovery program is designed to help those in the jail essentially “detox” and help people recover from dangerous addictions to drugs. Part of the program is to also provide help after they leave the jail through local entities, regardless of income.
Sheriff Kuhns shared how the program has moved forward in the last 6-7 months.
Thank you to Sheriff Kuhns for giving more information on the Medication Assisted Recovery program and why it is so important for the inmates and community as a whole. The goal is to provide help to those who need it and prevent repeating the same mistakes.
This interview is part of a monthly series that will continue next month.
