
Teutopolis, IL-(Effingham Radio)- The Relay For Life of Effingham County will be held Friday, July 11 from 5:00 PM – 8:00 PM at a new location for this year – Teutopolis Community Park (Race Street & W. Northern Row, Teutopolis, IL). This year’s theme is “There’s No Place Like Hope.” This inspiring evening brings the community together to honor cancer survivors, remember those we’ve lost, and raise funds for the American Cancer Society’s mission to end cancer as we know it.
Event Schedule:
- 5:00 PM – Food Trucks & Fundraising Tents Open
- 5:30 PM – Opening Ceremony
- 6:00 PM – Survivor Ceremony & Lap
- 7:00 PM – Live Music by Laila Smith
- 7:30 PM – Garden of Hope Ceremony
- 8:00 PM – Event Concludes
All in the community are encouraged to come out, bring their lawn chairs, and be a part of Relay For Life. Enjoy local food favorites from MAC DADDY, Homewood Grill, Toni’s Snak Shak, Izy’s Shiver Shack, and Relay For Life Team Crossroads Bank (pulled pork nachos & sandwiches).
Don’t miss activities by Heather’s Fight Club (bake sale, bounce house, photo booth), Cromwell Media’s prize wheel & quilt raffle, and a special drawing featuring original artwork by Amanda Hoelscher and more! Plus walk laps through the Garden of Hope, sponsored by Poverty Trucking, featuring pinwheels dedicated in memory and in honor of those impacted by cancer, all evening long. The 2025 silent auction will be held online again this year from July 9th – July 17th at 32auctions.com/EFFCORFL2025.
In 2025, over 2 million Americans are expected to face a cancer diagnosis—including over 78,000 in Illinois. Since its start in 1985, Relay For Life has raised more than $6.9 billion for cancer research and support services. Last year, Effingham County’s Relay raised over $70,000 and is working to raise $70,000 again in 2025.
