
Effingham, IL-(Effingham Radio)- The Effingham City Council met for their regular meeting Tuesday and discussed a few different items.
Deputy Police Chief Kurt Davis was officially sworn in as the new Police Chief for the City, succeeding the retiring Jason McFarland. The Council also discussed an addition of 639 acres of land into the City/County Enterprise Zone. Also discussed was a resolution authorizing execution of proposal for Professional Engineering Services
for FY2026 water main replacements.

- A Resolution Authorizing Execution of Proposal From Vandevanter Engineering – Petro Lift Station
- A Resolution Authorizing Execution of Proposals from Vandevanter Engineering – Henrietta Lift Station
- A Resolution Declaring Certain Real Property and Improvements Thereon as being Dangerous and Unsafe
- A Resolution Authorizing Execution of Proposal for Professional Engineering Services for South Cherry Street Reconstruction
The next City Council meeting is July 15.
