On June 26th, at 1:45pm, the Effingham County Sheriff’s Office served an arrest warrant on Cody J. Sapp, age 40, and Heather M. Lindemann, age 50, at their residence on North Third Street in Altamont. The Effingham County Warrants were issued for Sapp and Lindemann and allege Methamphetamine Trafficking, Methamphetamine Delivery – more than 100 grams, but less than 400 grams, and possession of Methamphetamine – more than 100 grams, but less than 400 grams. Sapp and Lindemann were both taken into custody without incident.
While at the residence Officers received further information that prompted Investigators to obtain a search warrant for the residence and grounds, which led to the discovery of approximately $100,000.00 in stolen property, that had been reported to the Sheriff’s Office earlier in the year.
Along with the methamphetamine charges, Sapp and Lindemann were charged with Possession of Stolen Property – over $10,000.00, but under $100,000.00, Criminal Damage to Property – over $500.00, but under $10,000.00 and Animal Neglect. The investigation into the suspected stolen property is ongoing, and more criminal charges are expected.
The Effingham County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by, and worked closely with, the Altamont Police Department, the Effingham County State’s Attorney’s Office, and the Effingham County Animal Control.

Sapp and Lindemann are still in custody at the time of this release, and both suspects should be presumed innocent, until proven guilty in a court of law.
