Effingham, IL-(Effingham Radio)- The 4th of July is next week, and that means lots of the local community will be celebrating the holiday with cookouts and fireworks.
Fire Chief Brant Yochum said while he wants the community to enjoy the holiday to the fullest, he wants to make sure people are safe when celebrating, whether it be cookout precautions or firework safety.
You can listen to the interview below.
As always, make sure to celebrate the 4th of July safely, and take precautions in dry conditions with anything related to fires or fireworks. Preparing for potential fires by having a fire extinguisher or water source readily available can be the difference between an accident and a disaster.
