Effingham, IL-(Effingham Radio)- Anker Innovations is recalling over one million power banks after some users reported fires and explosions. The company said a problem could cause the lithium-ion battery within some Anker PowerCore 10000 power banks to overheat “leading to melting of plastic components, smoke and fire hazards.”
The Consumer Product Safety Commission said the recall was issued Thursday and specifically applies to Anker PowerCore 10000 power banks with the model number “A1263.” The model number and serial number can be found on a label on the bottom of the power bank.
