Effingham, IL-(Effingham Radio)- The Effingham County Transportation Committee met for their monthly meeting Wednesday and heard updates on Effingham County Public Transportation (ECPT) and E-Trax.
ECPT reported they are still looking for another full-time employee, and they said they are getting more interest in the service. Montrose has also agreed to use the E-Trax service, and allocated funds to be directed toward the use of the service. ECPT also reported that the Rebuild Round 3 grant has been moved forward, with Barnesworth Group being awarded the bid for the maintenance facility due to their experience with them through IDOT. The working date is likely to be sometime in 2026.
CSS also announced they will be disposing of their excess vehicle.
