
Effingham, IL-(Effingham Radio)- The Effingham County Health & Insurance Committee held their monthly meeting Tuesday and discussed options for the remaining opioid funding and heard updates from the Effingham County Health Department.
The Committee discussed ways to use the over $71k in remaining funds for opioid related programs, which includes the Medically Assisted Recovery program currently underway at the jail. Committee members said the program has been getting less participants than expected, and that they are trying to get more people to utilize it. The Committee also looked at other ways the funding could be used, and will coordinate with the Sheriff’s Office and local entities to see what ideas can be brought forward.
ECHD reported that they are looking at getting new protective equipment for their employees. They said it will help to have more equipment that covers the skin and seals better.
