
Louisville, KY-(Effingham Radio)- The United Auto Workers strike is adding more members. The organization said in a tweet that 87-hundred UAW members at Ford’s Kentucky Truck Plant are joining the strike after Ford “refused to make further movement in bargaining.”
Large F-Series pick-up trucks are made that the plant, which are one of the company’s more profitable vehicles. The strike comes as UAW workers have been picketing against Ford, GM and Stellantis for over a month.
Due to this strike, Flex-N-Gate in Effingham has ceased production temporarily. Ford is a customer of Flex-N-Gate. The plant has several hundred local workers who are now temporarily laid off.
