Union Township, IL-(Effingham Radio)- Four people were injured in an accident that occurred in Union Township in Effingham County on Saturday, June 10th at 4:02pm.
According to a press release from the Effingham County Sheriff’s Office, the accident occurred at the intersection of US Hwy 45 and 1st Avenue.
The release states that a vehicle driven by 51 year old Justin C Lamb, of Shelbyville was traveling northbound on US Hwy 45 near the intersection with 1st Avenue.
At the same time, a vehicle driven by 33 year old, Chelsea M Wakefield, of Effingham was traveling southbound at the same intersection.
Lamb failed to yield while turning and turned left into the path of Wakefield.
Wakefield and three of her passengers, 33 year old Travis Wakefield and two minors, were taken to HSHS St Anthony’s Memorial Hospital for treatment of injuries.
Lamb was cited for failure to yield.
