
Effingham, IL-(Effingham Radio)- Larry Finfrock has given 31 years of service to the County, and the Effingham County Board recognized him for his time on Monday.
He’s been a part of the Sheriff’s department since the early 90’s, most recently in the position of Chief Deputy Sheriff. County Sheriff Paul Kuhns said he will miss the ideas and solutions Larry brought to the office, but he wishes him the best of luck in his retirement. Lt. Travis Buhnerkempe has been promoted to succeed Finfrock as chief deputy sheriff.
The Board allocated:
- $17,614 increase in earmarked funding and allocation of funds for county vehicles purchase
- $34,280 for an air-conditioner compressor unit for the County Office Building
- $20,000 for TREC Trail maintenance
- $2,500 in hotel/motel funds to Lake Sara fireworks
The Board also approved:
- Jim Niemann as PRN airport assistant
- Use of Courthouse Courtyard for the VW Welcomefest Downtown Party on Friday, June 16
- Annual agreement with U of I Extension
- Effingham County Recorder Rental Housing Support Program
- Joint funding agreement for construction work on the upcoming Moccasin Road resurfacing
- Low bidders for Motor Fuel Tax oil and batch for road maintenance
- County Haz Mat Coordinator to attend out-of-state training (Grant funded)
Appointments:
- Dr. Tina Rozene, Vickie Bushur and Karen Hill to the Board of Health
- Charles Braasch to the Board of Review
- Dr. Nanci Huels as County Veterinarian
- Eric Webb to the Watson Fire Protection District
- Dan Roedl to the Altamont Fire Protection District
- Jeremy Kyle to the Ethics Commission
- Jonathan Horn to the Teutopolis Fire Protection District
Board member Dave Campbell also said that there is more than $11,000 in loan funds through Rural Development, and Jeremy Deters stated that the lighted stop signs in Montrose have been received well.
