Coroner Called To Rural Vandalia, Pronounce Individual Deceased On Scene

Fayette County, IL-(Vandalia Radio)- The Fayette County Coroner was called to a rural Vandalia address on Sunday morning to pronounce a man dead.

Fayette County Coroner Dave Harris reports that at 6:15 am on Sunday, Harris was dispatched by the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office to a rural Vandalia address.  Coroner Harris says he pronounced 51 year old Michael W. Burtchi dead at the scene.  Coroner Harris says the incident is still under investigation and no further information is being released at this time.  Assisting Harris was the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office, Vandalia Police Department and Rural Med EMS.
