Shelby County, IL-(Effingham Radio)- The Shelby County Sheriff’s Office announced the following on their Facebook Page:
Shelby County State’s Attorney Nichole Kroncke announced that on January 31, 2023, Donald Plunkett, 56, of Findlay, IL was charged with 22 counts of possession and dissemination of child pornography. Plunkett is charged with possessing pornographic photographs of children under the age of 13 (6 counts), which are Class 2 felonies with a sentencing range of 3-7 years in prison; possession of pornographic photographs of children under the age of 18 (8 counts), which are Class 3 felonies with a sentencing range of 2-5 years in prison; and dissemination of pornographic videos of children under the age of 13 (8 counts), which are Class X felonies with a sentencing range of 6-30 years in prison. All 22 counts require lifetime registration as a sexual predator upon conviction.
Plunkett was arrested with a no bond warrant on January 31, 2023.
The case was investigated by the Illinois State Police, Zone 5 Investigations and the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children as an Internet Crimes Against Children investigation.
The pending charges are merely accusations and the defendant is assumed innocent until proven guilty.
