Shelby County Board to Meet Thursday

Shelbyville, IL-(Effingham Radio)- The Shelby County Board is set to meet on Thursday, January 12th at 7:00pm.

The following items are on the agenda:

• Approval of Minutes from December 8, 2022, regular meeting
• Public Body Comment 
• Announce vacancy in office of the State’s Attorney effective at 4:00 PM on January 31, 2023, due to the resignation of Nichole Kroncke
• Discussion and vote to approve the Resolution to approve the Preliminary Plat for Lithia Estates subdivision for owners David and Barbara Galvan, located in Shelbyville Township 
• Highway Engineer’s Report – Discussion and vote on approval of the following: Resolution to award seal coat material bids; Resolution to award culvert bids
• Engineering Agreement with Hampton, Lenzini and Renwick, Inc. for Preliminary Engineering and final design for the Country Club Road Project ( Co Hwy 5) – Phase 2 – $86,000 ($150,000 of Rebuild Illinois Funds have already been approved for this work on June 10, 2021)
• Discussion and vote to approve the following 50/50 Petitions:Dry Point Township – Replace a 42” by 32’ CMP with same size pipe  –  $2,759; Cold Spring Township – Replace a 48” X 50’ CMP with same size pipe – $7,312; Pickaway Township – Replace two 54”’ X 45’ CMP with same size pipe – $13,691; Prairie Township – Replace a 3’ x 3’ box culvert with a 42” x 30’ Arch CMP – $4,906
• County Highway Updates
• Presentation by Attorney Christopher Koester on AFSCME 31 vs Shelby County Board/Shelby County Treasurer ILRB Case S-RC-22-045
• Discussion and vote on approval of settlement of ILRB case S-RC-22-045 
• Discussion and vote to approve Benford Brown and Associates CPA to conduct FY22 annual audit at revised rates of $68,500 from $63,300 (8% inflation increase)
• Discussion and vote to approve County Treasurer to be Administrator to the US Treasury Portal to all funds accessible through portal
• Discussion and vote to approve the appointment of County Treasurer as Administrator to the GATA portal
• Discussion and vote to approve the appointment of the County Treasurer as the “Point of Contact” in the Grant Finder Program administered through IACBM
• Discussion and vote on resolution for disposal of surplus firearms by the Shelby County Sheriff’s Office and to allow surplus firearms to be bid as one (1) lot
• Discussion and vote on resolution to declare the Autoclear Model 5333-160 x-ray machine (serial # 12-09-2-P198) as surplus equipment and allow for disposal by the Shelby County Sheriff either by sale, scrap, or disposal 
• Discussion and vote on approval of Ordinance to implement a 6 month moratorium on issuance of special use permits for underground Carbon Sequestration Facilities in Shelby County 
• Discussion and vote to have County Board Chairman determine how Shelby County can terminate the Axon Body Camera contract approved on August 12, 2021, and the costs involved to terminate this contract
