Springfield, IL-(Vandalia Radio)- The Powerball jackpot is now over 1.5 billion dollars. Your odds of winning are about 1 in 292 million. But, if you do hit it big Illinois Lottery Director Harold Mays has some advice.
Mays says a single winner of the Powerball jackpot will receive nearly 746 million dollars if they opt to take it as a lump sum. This huge jackpot comes on the heels of the 1.3 billion mega millions winning ticket that was sold back in July in Illinois. The next Powerball drawing is Saturday night.
