Effingham, IL-(Effingham Radio)- On January 23, 2022 at approximately 10:50 am, Abbott EMS and the Effingham City Police Department responded to the Effingham Motel on East Fayette Ave. in Effingham, Illinois in regards to a death investigation. The motel manager called 911 and advised that an individual failed to check out and was found unresponsive in his room. Upon arrival, emergency responders found a male deceased in one of the motel rooms.
The male was identified as John Michael Clark, age 73, of Toledo, Illinois. The Coroner’s office was notified and responded to the motel. Preliminary investigation indicated there was no trauma or injury. Medical records are being requested and no foul play is suspected. No drugs or alcohol were found in the room.
The death remains under investigation by the Effingham County Coroner’s office and the Effingham City Police Department.
