Duo of Guy & Fearday of St. Anthony Downs Altamont 86-70, Despite Nelson’s 50

On Monday Altamont and St. Anthony did battle in a NTC clash and the game did not disappoint.

In the opening quarter it was St. A who would jump out to the early lead with Riley Guy leading the way with seven for the Lady Bulldogs. It was Altamont who ended the quarter with a couple of breakaway layups from Grace Nelson and a three pointer by Sylie Klien to tie the game at 15.

Nelson and Klien would continue to have second quarter with each scoring 13 and 10 points respectively.  Not to be out done, St. A’s  Lucy Fearday taking advantage of her height down in the post with 11 of her own. Though it wasn’t enough as the Lady Indians would end up leading at the half 38-33.

St. Anthony would go on a run in the third quarter with Abi Hatton scoring eight again taking advantage of rebounding opportunities. Guy added in 12 points to outscore the Indians 31-9 in third quarter to take the lead back 64-47 after three quarters.

Nelson tried to spark a comeback going off for 21 in the fourth quarter alone but was again the duo of Guy and Fearday who lead St. Anthony to  the victory 86-70.

Altamont falls to 6-3 on the season 2-1 in the NTC.

St. Anthony improves to 6-2 on the season 3-0 in the NTC.

• Altamont played well thru 3 quarter just looking to put the whole game together
