
Effingham, IL -(Effingham Radio)- More than 60 million people are feeling the effects of a heat wave that is sweeping across the country.
Cities like Washington D.C. and Philadelphia will experience temperatures in the low 90s, but it could feel closer to one-hundred degrees Fahrenheit due to high humidity. Through Friday, some areas of the Midwest and Plains will see temperatures close to 110 degrees. The desert Southwest will be hottest of all, with temperatures nearing 115 degrees for cities such as Phoenix and Tucson, Arizona.
The heat and humidity will break this weekend in the Northeast but will continue in other areas from the Midwest to the mid-Atlantic.
