
Effingham, IL -(Effingham Radio)- Effingham County Health Department announced six new positive cases of Coronavirus Disease (COVID-19) from Friday, February 12 and Saturday, February 13. There was one case on Friday, and five cases on Saturday. Positive case demographics are as follows:

In the last seven days the Effingham County Health Department has distributed 600 first doses to those aged 65+ and 200 2nd doses to first responders. To date 5,000 doses of COVID vaccine have been distributed in Effingham County and over 1,000 people are fully vaccinated.
Illinois Region 6 rolling test positivity was 3.9% through February 10, while Effingham County was 2.9% for the same period. With our region in Phase 4; we ask everyone to continue doing their part in reducing the spread of COVID by masking up properly, washing hands regularly, maintaining 6ft social distancing and avoiding large groups.
