
Effingham, IL -(Effingham Radio)- The KEEP CHRIST IN CHRISTMAS POSTER CONTEST is in its 13th Year and our Council had 340 posters submitted this year. In addition to the age groups that go on for higher level judging, our Council has a contest for children 4 and under. The first place winners of the other age groups will be submitted for judging at the Diocesan and State levels in January.
The Council winners were presented their awards at a awards ceremony on December 18 th with refreshments and snacks afterwards. The winners are as follows:
Ages 4 and under:
- 1st Gracie Jo Miller (HS)
- 2nd Russel Mammoser (St. A)
- 3rd Ava Buhnerkempe (SH)
Ages 5 to 7:
- 1st Alivia Lauritzen (St. A)
- 2nd Kate Chojnicki (SH)
- 3rd Bryce Hayes (SH)
Ages 8 to 10:
- 1st Elle Keller (SH)
- 2nd Addie Lauritzen (St. A)
- 3rd Cora Bierman (SH)
Ages 11 to 14:
- 1st Gracie Passalacqua (St. A)
- 2nd Gracie Haarman (SH)
- 3rd Maggie Moeller (St. A)

The Effingham Knights of Columbus FREE THROW CONTEST will be held on Saturday, January 19. Registration from 12:30 to 1:00 with the free throw shoot starting at 1:00 p.m. at THE RICHARD E. WORKMAN SPORTS AND WELLNESS COMPLEX. ALL boys and girls ages 9 to 14 (age as of January 1) are welcome to compete. The winners will go on to the District Free Throw Contest on January 26.
