Springfield, IL -(Effingham Radio)- Trooper James Dierkes is in custody after being arrested Friday by the Illinois State Police Division of Internal Investigation.
Dierkes faces one count each of aggravated criminal sexual abuse and criminal sexual assault.
The charges stem from reported incidents in 2016 while Dierkes was employed at Vandalia Community High School, prior to his employment with the ISP.
Two female victims have alleged that they had inappropriate sexual contact with Dierkes on multiple occasions while he was employed at the school.
Dierkes has been employed with the ISP since June 2018.
