Richland County, IL-(Effingham Radio)- An Olney man was killed in an accident that occurred on Thursday.
According to a report from the Illinois State Police, the accident occurred on IL Route 130, approximately 1,050 feet north of East Liberty Lane, at 1:30pm.
The report states that a vehicle driven by 81 year old, Jesse D Bromm, of Olney was traveling southbound on IL 130, when his vehicle crossed the center line and side swiped the driver’s side door of a vehicle driven by 43 year old, William H Haley, of West Liberty.
Bromm’s vehicle continued southbound and then side swiped a vehicle driven by 53 year old, Doug D Giles, of Teutopolis.
Bromm’s vehicle and the Giles vehicle came to a rest in the east ditch of IL 130.
Bromm was pronounced deceased at the scene of the accident by the Richland County Coroner’s Office.
Giles and two of his passengers, Joseph A Sowell and Payton T Bushue, were cited for failure to wear a seat belt.
Giles was transported by Jasper County Ambulance to an area hospital for treatment.
