Effingham, IL-(Effingham Radio)- The Food and Drug Administration has upgraded an egg recall to the highest risk level. The FDA declared it a Class One recall on Wednesday citing the possibility that consuming the eggs could cause serious health consequences or death.
According to the latest update, nearly 98 people have been sickened across 17 states, with 26 hospitalizations. No deaths have been reported. The recalled products were sold under several brands, including Kroger, Brookshire’s, Country Morning, Simple Truth and Sunups as well as various bulk Grade A and Grade AA eggs.
