Effingham, IL-(Effingham Radio)- Rainy conditions will continue throughout the week, with severe weather likely this afternoon.
Additional rounds of showers and storms are expected across portions of central Illinois today. Some of the storms near and south of I-70 could be severe with damaging wind gusts, large hail, and an isolated tornado all possible. A stalled frontal boundary is dominating the forecast this week, bringing a big north-to-south temperature split and daily rain/thunderstorm chances.
A warm front will lift across central Illinois early Friday ushering in unseasonably warm and moist air across central Illinois. Storms will fire ahead of a cold front that moves across the region Friday night. Some storms could be severe.
