
Mattoon, IL-(Effingham Radio)- On April 9 and 10, 2026, Lake Land College and the Education for Employment System 340 will co-host the 8th grade career conference, an annual event designed to help young students discover rewarding, local career paths.
During the event, students will meet with local employers representing a wide range of industries, including agriculture, healthcare, manufacturing, business and more. Students will have the opportunity to ask questions, explore their interests, learn about educational requirements and draw career inspiration from accomplished professionals.
Employers are invited to host a table at the event to connect with students. The event will be held in the Lake Land College Field House from 9:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. both days. Participating businesses have the option to attend either one or both conference days. A complimentary lunch will also be provided for all company representatives.
