
Effingham, IL-(Effingham Radio)- Subzero wind chills coupled with several inches of snow could make this weekend treacherous for most the local area.
Life-threatening cold grips the region Friday & Saturday (Jan 23-24) with wind chill values ranging 20-30 degrees below zero on Friday, and 10-20 degrees below zero on Saturday.
Snow will occur in two waves, with the first occurring late Saturday morning through early evening, and the second occurring during the day on Sunday. This graphic includes the probability of over 4″ of snow (left image) and over 8″ of snow (right image). These probabilities include both rounds of snowfall.

The highest amounts are expected south of I-70.
