Effingham, IL-(Effingham Radio)- The CDC says 64 people across 22 states are sick with the same strain of salmonella linked to eating raw oysters. Twenty are in the hospital, and no deaths have been reported.
Health officials say people with salmonella poisoning begin to experience a fever, stomach cramps, and diarrhea within six hours to six days after exposure. The CDC and the FDA are still investigating if the tainted oysters come from the same source. They have not issued a recall at this time.
