
Teutopolis, IL-(Effingham Radio)- During Monday’s Teutopolis Unit 50 Board of Education meeting, a tax levy hearing was held, and the board approved both the tax levy and the payment of district bills. Treasurer’s reports and board policy updates were also given the green light. The board accepted AKRA Builders Inc.’s bid for a $1,685,455 project to expand and partially renovate Teutopolis Junior High School, making space for sixth grade students in the 2026-27 year and paving the way for future improvements at the grade school.
Administrative reports highlighted ongoing facility studies and introduced “A Clear View Ahead,” a website launching soon with verified school information. Updates also covered departmental progress, upcoming professional development, and continued use of weather closures as needed. Staffing changes included the acceptance of a resignation and retirement, as well as a conditional new coaching hire.
The board’s next meeting is set for January 12.
