
Effingham, IL-(Effingham Radio)- The Effingham City Council met Tuesday and discussed and approved numerous items.
After approving the omnibus agenda, the Council approved a rezone for Dusty’s Outdoor Media LLC and Midland States Bank from Nonurban to B-2 General Commercial District. They also approved the new Tax Levy for the City of Effingham, and rejected a two year contract with Dusty’s Outdoor Media for two billboards, as a few Council members said they feel they may not need as many.
The Council also approved:
- A Resolution Authorizing Acceptance of Quotation from Hutchinson Recreation & Design – Bliss Park Playground Equipment Project
- A Resolution Authorizing Acceptance of Quotation from ACP International for Additional Decorative Street Signs Project
- A Resolution Authorizing Acceptance of Quotation from ACP International for Additional Decorative Street Signs Project
The Council also discussed:
- A Resolution Authorizing Execution of Proposal with Stantec for Water Rate Study (for setting water rate)
- TIF Housing Redevelopment Program (Beals)
- Bid Letting for Tree Pruning Program
- An Agreement for Engineering Services with Milano & Grunloh for Jaycee Avenue Improvements – Route 45 to Veterans Avenue
Fire Chief Brant Yochum also announced that Santa Claus will be going around neighborhoods on December 16th, 17th, and 18th, and he said a schedule will be out soon. Police Chief Kurt Davis also announced that they received a grant for 400 toys that will be given out at the Walking Through Wonderland event on the 26th of November.
