
Effingham, IL-(Effingham Radio)- The Effingham County Health & Insurance Committee met Tuesday and discussed opioid funding and insurance coverage for the County.
Sheriff Kuhns gave an update on the Medically Assisted Recovery (MAR) Program, stating that 6 people are utilizing the program. He said there is $57k in new money coming into the program this year, with more expected next year. Kuhns said there is room to bring more people into the program, and he is looking at getting the partner agencies a bigger role.
A representative for the County’s liability insurance addressed the committee, stating that while rates have gone up, premiums for the County remain the same. She went on to say that premiums for Effingham County are lower than the average for the state. The item was moved to the Tax & Finance Committee for final review before it gets sent to the full board.
