Effingham, IL-(Effingham Radio)- Officials said food giant Hormel is recalling close to five million pounds of chicken products after customer complaints. The issue was discovered after “multiple complaints from food service customers finding metal in their frozen chicken breast and thigh products.”
The USDA’s Food Safety and Inspection Service said no injuries have been reported. The agency said Hormel Foods found the metal came from a conveyor belt during production. The chicken was distributed to HRI Commercial Food Service nationally between February 10th and September 19th.
