Effingham, IL-(Effingham Radio)- Select California-grown peaches are being recalled for potential listeria contamination.
According to the FDA, the recall includes fresh white, yellow and “peppermint” peaches from Moonlight Companies which were sold at grocery stores nationwide including Trader Joe’s and Kroger. The fruit was sold both individually and in multi-packs between September 16th and October 29th of this year.
The FDA warns contracting listeria can lead to death in young children, elderly people or those with compromised immune systems, however, the agency said no illnesses from the peaches have been reported at this time.
