Effingham, IL-(Effingham Radio)- Cholesterol medication is being recalled over “failed dissolution specifications.”
According to the FDA, Ascend Laboratories issued the recall suggesting that the drugs did not pass a solubility test or failed to dissolve at a standard rate. The pharmaceutical company first initiated its recall in September, and this month the products were categorized under a “Class Two” recall which means health officials believe use of the drug “may cause temporary or medically reversible adverse health consequences.”
The FDA said, “consumers can generally continue taking the medicine unless the recalling company provides other instructions,” however, the federal regulatory agency urges consumers to speak with their doctor or pharmacist.
