Bradley Dean Robards, age 60, of Dieterich, Illinois, passed away at 4:15 AM – Wednesday, October 29, 2025, at Willow Breeze at Mattoon, Illinois.
Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11:00 AM – Monday, November 3, 2025, at Saint Joseph Catholic Church in Island Grove, Illinois, with Fr Michael Meinhart, celebrating mass. A visitation for family and friends will be held from 3:00 to 6:00 PM on Sunday, November 2, 2025, at Saint Joseph Catholic Church in Island Grove, Illinois. There will also be a visitation from 10:00 to 10:45 AM – Monday, November 3, 2025, in the St Joseph Parish Center in Island Grove, Illinois. Arrangements are under the care of the Meyer Funeral Home in Dieterich, Illinois. Bradley Dean, better known as Brad was born on February 28, 1965, in Effingham, Illinois, the son of Larry Dean and Marilyn Fay (Teiffel) Robards. He graduated from Dieterich High School with the Class of 1983. On February 21, 1987, Brad married Thresa Ann Ochs, at Saint Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church in Newton, Illinois.
Brad just recently retired from John Boos and Company after 32 years of service in the shipping department. He was a member of Saint Isidore the Farmer parish. Brad was an avid sportsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing and mushroom hunting.
Brad is survived by his Wife of 38 years – Thresa Robards of Dieterich, Illinois, Mother – Marilyn Robards of Dieterich, Illinois, Children – Eric (Chelsa) Robards of Newton, Illinois; Kevin (Justin) Robards of San Antonio, Texas; and Jennifer (Matt) Goedde of Dieterich, Illinois, Grandchildren – Avery and Alaina Robards, Sisters – Tina Robards of Montrose, Illinois and Leslie Robards of Dieterich, Illinois, Brother-in-law – Harold Ochs, Sisters-in-law – Sue Ochs, Eileen Ochs, Carol (Don) Hahn, Sharon Watson, Mary (Ken) Helregel, Helen (Andy) Grunloh, and Kathy (David) Helregel, Aunt – Norma Rife, Several nieces and nephews also survive
Brad was preceded in death by his father, father-in-law and mother-in-law Lorraine “Johnny” and Romonna Ochs, aunt Sue Meyer, uncle Cloyce Rife, sister-in-law Joann (Kenny) Mette, brothers-in-law Leo Ochs, Allen Ochs and Neil (Mary) Ochs, and a nephew Keith Mette.
