Jacqueline Lynn, better known as “Jackie” a cherished mother, daughter, sister, aunt and friend was born on February 9, 1962, in Decatur, Illinois, the daughter of Lenvil John and Joyce Lavaughn (Edwards) Curtis, Sr. She lived a life marked with warmth, quiet strength, and unwavering love. Her presence was a gentle comfort to those who knew her, and her memory will live on in the hearts she touched.
Jackie found joy in the simple pleasures of life-listening to her favorite country music, quietly reading Harlequin novels, and playing cards or any kind of game that brought people together. She was easy to laugh, quick to lend a hand, and would do anything for anyone-even to her own detriment. If it was her last dollar, she gave it freely, without hesitation.
Jackie worked at the TA and Bobber Truck Stops in Effingham for several years as a waitress and at Petro as a cashier. She was a devoted member of Bethsaida Church south of Dieterich, where her steadfast faith carried her through life’s many trials.
Jackie is survived by her loving family, Sons – Tony Curtis of Saint Elmo, Illinois; Titus Adams of Lusby, Maryland; and Jed Adams of Lake Wells, Florida. Mother Joyce Curtis of Wheeler, Illinois, Siblings Celia (Paul) Mulvey of Newton, Illinois; Ramona Curtis of Effingham, Illinois; John Curtis of Hidalgo, Illinois; Duane (Amy) Curits Sinton, Texas; and Norma (Sam) Blythe of Stewardson, Illinois.
Jackie held a special place in her heart for her nieces and nephews, and the bond they shared was filled with lasting love.
Jackie was preceded in death by her father, sisters Linda Hollgarth and Brenda Watson, husband Timothy Adams, nephew Zachary Curtis, father-in-law and mother-in-law Arlie and Marian Adams and a sister-in-law Dawn Adams.
As sad as we are to lose her, we rejoice now knowing that she is in the presence of her Savior.
