
Effingham, IL-(Effingham Radio)- At 8:37 am on Sunday, October 19, 2025 the Effingham County Sheriff’s Department responded to a two-vehicle head-on crash on the Dieterich blacktop approximately one mile south of Dieterich.
Upon arrival, it was determined one female was deceased at the scene and one male was taken to HSHS St. Anthony Hospital for treatment.
Preliminary investigation revealed that a 2011 Chevrolet pick-up truck driven by Nathan Roley, age 39 of Dieterich, Illinois was traveling northbound on the Dieterich blacktop when he crossed the centerline and struck a southbound 2003 Chevrolet van driven by Jacqueline Adams, age 63 of Wheeler, Illinois.
Jacqueline Adams was pronounced deceased at the scene by the Coroner’s office. Nathan Roley was later airlifted from St. Anthony Hospital to a regional trauma center.
The Effingham County Coroner’s office and the Illinois State Police are continuing the investigation pending the results of the toxicology reports and the Illinois State Police Traffic Reconstruction Report.
Agencies on scene to assist were the Effingham County Sheriff’s Department, Illinois State Police and Traffic Reconstruction, Dieterich Fire Department, Teutopolis Police and Fire Department, Rural Med EMS and the Effingham County Coroner’s Office.
