
Effingham, IL-(Effingham Radio)- The Effingham Health & Insurance Committee met Tuesday and discussed the leftover opioid funding and how to use it.
There is around $90k left in the fund, and the committee discussed ways to spend the funds. A representative from Family Resource Center with the Effingham County Health Department gave the committee a request for funding from the opioid fund, stating it can be used to help low income families and people recovering from drug use get back on their feet through their program. The request was for $18k, and was granted.
The committee also discussed Effingham County liability insurance, and said they are waiting on a meeting later this month and will have more info after the meeting. The health department also said that the drive thru flu clinic is open for anyone to use before this flu season.
