
Effingham, IL-(Effingham Radio)- On Monday, October 6th, 2025, the Effingham County Sheriff’s Office (ECSO) arrested Kevin J. Medford, 49, of Dieterich, for multiple drug and firearm related charges.
Effingham County Sheriff’s Office Patrol Deputies and Detectives served search warrants where Medford resides and a nearby storage unit. Evidence of the sale and delivery of controlled substances was located, along with several weapons and drugs.
Medford is currently in custody at the Effingham County Jail, after being arrested by Sheriff’s Deputies for:
- Possession of Methamphetamine, more than 15 grams, but less than 100 grams – a class one felony
- Possession with intent to deliver more than 15 grams, but less than 100 grams of Methamphetamine – a class X felony
- Possession of a weapon by a felon – a class three felony
- Possession of a stolen firearm – a class two felony
Medford is due in court today, October 8th, for his first appearance and pre–trial detention hearing. Medford should be considered innocent of all charges until proven guilty in a court of law.
