Newton, IL-(Effingham Radio)- Authorities in Newton have recovered more than 7.5 pounds of methamphetamine following a coordinated drug seizure at the Cobblestone Hotel and Suites. The operation was carried out on Friday, September 26th, involving the Newton Police Department, the Jasper County State’s Attorney’s Office, and the Jasper County Sheriff’s Department.
Two suspects were arrested and remain in custody. The Newton Police Department emphasizes that its investigation is ongoing, and those arrested are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
