Effingham, IL-(Effingham Radio)- The FDA is announcing another recall of frozen shrimp due to possible radioactive contamination.
The latest recall involves six-ounce packages of AquaStar Corp. cocktail shrimp sold at Walmart stores in more than a dozen states between July 31st and August 16th of this year. Health officials issued the recall citing potential contamination with the radioactive isotope cesium-137, and it marks the third shrimp recall this month tied to imports from Indonesia. The FDA advises consumers not to eat the product and return it to Walmart for a full refund.
