EFFINGHAM COUNTY JAIL

August 9, 2025

  • Effingham City Police arrested 35 year old Richard F. Sanchez of Effingham for domestic battery. Richard was taken to the Effingham County Jail.
  • Effingham City Police arrested 38 year old Jason D. Hendrix of Effingham for battery. Jason was given an NTA and was released.
  • Effingham County Sheriff’s Office arrested 47 year old Melissa C. Stevens of St. Elmo for as Fayette County mittimus to jail for 7 weekends for violating an order of protection. Melissa was taken to the Effingham County Jail.
  • Effingham County Sheriff’s Office arrested 23 year old Israel Avila Juarez of Effingham for driving with no valid license. Israel was given an NTA and was released.
  • Altamont Police arrested 56 year old Douglas A. Merrill of Altamont for an Effingham County FTA warrant for disorderly conduct and criminal trespass. Douglas was taken to the Effingham County Jail.

August 10, 2025

  • Effingham County Sheriff’s Office arrested 33 year old Joshua D. Mayberry of Altamont for an Effingham County mittimus to jail for 2 days. Joshua was taken to the Effingham County Jail.
  • Effingham City Police arrested 34 year old Braydon T. Shields of Decatur for retail theft. Braydon was given an NTA and was released.
  • Effingham City Police arrested 28 year old Jose E. Calderon Aguila of Effingham for driving with no valid license and operation of an uninsured vehicle. Jose was given an NTA and was released.
  • Effingham County Sheriff’s Office arrested 19 year old Riley W. Darkow of Watson for DUI alcohol. Riley was given an NTA and was released.

August 11, 2025

  • Illinois State Police arrested 39 year old DeMarcos D. Shields of Lawrenceville for a Fayette County FTA warrant for possession of drug paraphernalia. DeMarcos posted bond and was released.
  • Effingham County Sheriff’s Office arrested 18 year old Jose M. Reyes Hernandez of Effingham for driving with no valid license. Jose was given an NTA and was released.
