Effingham, IL-(Effingham Radio)- Millions of above-ground pools are being recalled. The Consumer Product Safety Commission announced the recall of five-million pools on Monday, and it comes after they were linked to the drowning deaths of nine children across six states between 2007 and 2022.
A CPSC alert indicated that an external strap could provide a way for children to enter the water, even if the ladder has been removed, and it poses a drowning risk. Consumers who have the pools are being urged to contact Bestway, Intex or Polygroup for a free repair kit.
