Effingham, IL-(Effingham Radio)- June 14 was a big day for protesting in Effingham, as more than 100 people showed out for the “No Kings” Protest that took place nationwide.
Protesters gathered at the Effingham County Courthouse and donned signs, slogans, and let the community know their thoughts about the current administration. The vast majority of those participating were local residents.

The rain in the area didn’t dampen the spirits of the protesters, and an impressive showing across the nation, even in deep red areas of the country, showed how many people are exercising their right to protest. Estimates on the attendance of the nationwide protests are over 10M people.

This national day of protest ran counter to the President’s military parade in Washington DC, where a parade was held to honor the military’s 250th birthday, which was also President Trump’s birthday.
