
Effingham, IL-(Effingham Radio)- A salmonella outbreak in cucumbers has expanded to include 45 people reporting illness in 18 states. Target has been added to the list of retailers that sold recalled cucumbers or ready-to-eat products with the fruit and is warning consumers to throw them in the trash.
Target released a list of recalled products, including a Greek-style chicken salad from Boar’s Head and several types of sushi sold under the Mai brand. The FDA said 16 of of the 45 people who have reported illness have been hospitalized. The agency said all the illnesses have been linked to cucumbers produced by Bedner Growers and distributed by Fresh Start Produce Sales.
